I’ve been really excited about Switchfoot’s new album, Hello Hurricane, for a while. Switchfoot is my favorite band, and this album only added to that. This album is a true work of art. Jon Foreman, probably one of the top 5 best songwriters of the 21st century, really showed his talent in this album. As you listen to this album, it takes you through all the joys and pains of life. The first song, “Needle and Haystack Life,” talks about the beauty of finding that one “needle in a haystack” person amidst the craziness of life. Other songs about pain in life, messing up, having a “bullet soul” and going for crazy dreams, and overcoming the storms in your life. This album is not obscure or specific, like Oh! Gravity was in some ways, but it’s very poetically applicable to pretty much everyone. Not to mention, the fantastic musicianship shown is breathtaking. I would highly, highly recommend that you purchase this album as soon as possible. Or, at least, go to www.myspace.com/switchfoot and here all the songs. I guarantee that you will be impressed.
